The permanent collection is an important adjunct to our efforts to present, preserve and document visual art expressions relevant to our region. Therefore, it is highly desirable that CAC also collect, and maintain on display, works that compliment, enhance, contextualize and/or expand the content of CAC' s ongoing exhibition program. The exhibition program, and those works considered for the permanent collection, strive to present and represent the works of regionally and nationally recognized contemporary artists; present and represent the efforts of local collectors, individuals and institutions whose efforts have made a significant commitment to the collection of such works; and present and represent works of art and exhibitions that provide context for or examine relevant issues in both historic and contemporary visual arts germane to the region.
